Sheila A. Washington is founder and president of
Washington Consulting Group, a
Pittsburgh
based Organizational Development consulting firm. Washington Consulting
Group (WCG) specializes in assisting communities and organizations
enhance their effectiveness through strategic culture change
initiatives.
WCG’s service niches include community and
organizational planning, team building, diversity and inclusion best
practices, change management, and leadership development. Areas of
expertise include group facilitation, conflict resolution, communication
skill development, program research, and training. Each facilitation and
consulting intervention is designed to meet the unique needs of the
client. Ms. Washington partners with local and national
organizational development experts, researchers and other professionals
to provide these important services.
Washington Consulting Group’s customized services
assist organizations in assessing their program and leadership
effectiveness, and developing individualized action plans to improve
effectiveness. WCG can also assist with assessing community issues and
organizational culture, and developing strategies to improve teamwork.

Washington
works with a variety of public, for-profit and nonprofit organizations.
Washington Consulting Group has worked with the City of
Pittsburgh, Allegheny County,
Alcoa, GlaxoSmithKline, The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, and PPG Industries.
Sheila consults with community development corporations, economic
development corporations, human services organizations, health care
providers, and colleges and universities. Recent community based clients
include Central Northside Neighborhood Council (CNNC) and Hill House
Economic Development Corporation (HHEDC).
Ms.
Washington
brings business leadership and organizational development consulting
experience to her work. Prior to founding Washington Consulting Group,
she served as vice-president of Ambrose Consulting & Training and held
management positions with Aetna Life & Casualty.
Sheila Washington holds a B.A. in Behavior Sciences
from Washington & Jefferson College and a M.S. in Organizational
Development from The American University. She is a graduate of Leadership
Pittsburgh, serves on several boards, and is a frequent speaker to
professional, civic, and academic groups. Ms. Washington has taught Organizational
Communication in La Roche College’s Human Resources Management Graduate
Program. Sheila is a 2010 New Pittsburgh Courier Woman of Excellence.
